Privacy Policy

  1. Your personal details are visible to you on login through a secured login using encrypted password.
  2. Your password is fully encrypted and is a one-way encryption. It is not available to anyone other than yourself.
  3. If you lose your password, you will have to go through a verification process and reset the password yourself.
  4. We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you input a request or access your personal information.
  5. We will not reveal any of your personal details to any third party without your consent unless the law requires us to do so. However, masked information may be used for research purposes including third-party research as well as for targeted advertising on the site.
  6. We will only release information regarding your personal details if the release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our’s or other’s rights, property, or safety.
  7. We store your “ID” to provide a trusted system to users. However, this is available only to the system administrator and not to other users. We do not verify the “ID” and rely on the representation of the user that the ID numbers or details belongs to the user.
  8. Your profile on the system will be available for other members to see and will carry only the following details :
    1. name
    2. photo
    3. your interests
    4. rides taken by you and the ratings that you have received from other users
    5. their reviews and your number of ride cancellations if you are a rider
    6. the details of your car if you are a car-owner. Your mobile information will only be given to your “matched rider”.
  9. The profile is available for other members to build comfort and trust in the ride partners. You can also view similar profiles of your ride partners with whom you have been matched.
  10. Like most e-commerce websites, the system will automatically collect the IP address and the webpage from where you accessed the service. Some of this information would be used to enhance our service.
  11. Like most websites, the system will also use cookies to track the user’s activity on the site and to enhance user interface and experience. While cookies can be disabled by the user, doing this may prevent access or retrieval of parts of our website.
  12. Data collected from members would fall into three main areas.
    1. Personal information of which part will be published and the rest stored in a secure area. Published information will only appear to your rider or driver after a successful match has occurred. The other personal information will be used by the system to get in touch, communicate with you and enhance user experience.
    2. Financial information – essentially consisting of your Paypal account, which are not stored anywhere on the site.
    3. Your usage pattern particularly in relation to trip schedule, ride times, preferences etc. that will help us streamline the service to you and to provide better predictive matching and ride scheduling.
    4. Service transaction information in provision for customer support to facilitate transactions and payments on the Site.
  13. If you choose to register for an account or otherwise link your account with a third party social networking sites (such as Facebook), we may collect and receive same type of information we collect from you (as described above) directly from third party social networking sites and combine it with other information that we have about you.
  14. Communication to you via SMS and push notifications may be done in the course of matching you with a ride partner, completing the service and carrying out instructions as per your request. Sometimes such messages may carry commercial messages such as advertisements and promotional offers.
  15. Email Subscriptions – You hereby consent to receiving email notifications from Us. You can unsubscribe from our commercial or promotional emails by requesting through support@rydesharing.com. This does not affect your transactional and relational emails about your account necessary to support your activities on the Site.
  16. Text Messages – You hereby consent to receiving text messages from Us. You can opt out of receiving commercial or promotional text messages by texting the word “Unsub” to +65 9642 8353 from the mobile device receiving the messages.
  17. You hereby consent to giving us any and all relevant information (including information deemed to be “Personal Data”) that are required for providing the service including all support services.
  18. To operate the Site, including processing your transactions and supporting your activities on the Site, where absolutely necessary we may share your personal information with our agents, representatives, contractors and service providers so they can provide us with support services such as (but not limited to) authorization of payment transactions, email origination, receipt or support services, customer relationship management services, SMS services and order fulfilment.
  19. We may review all demographic data. We may use public information to enable other users to search your profile, to determine whether your trip details fit other user’s requirements, and to communicate with you. We may use demographic information to tailor the Site and communications to your interests.
  20. We may also share demographic information with advertisers on an anonymous and aggregated basis (i.e., without telling the advertisers your identity). Our sharing of demographic information with advertisers is anonymous (i.e., we do not tell advertisers which particular Site users are members of which demographic groups), subject to the rest of this privacy policy.
  21. Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites will have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.
  22. Retention of Information – Your Personal Data will be retained for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it is collected or for business or legal purposes, or in accordance with applicable laws. In the event that you should choose to withdraw your consent to our use of your Personal Data, please note that your Personal Data will be retained on our database to the extent permitted by law.
  23. Changes to this Privacy Policy – The Company may from time to time revise and update this Privacy Policy at any time by posting such revised Privacy Policy on this Website. Subject to your rights at law, you agree to be bound by the terms of the Privacy Policy as revised and updated from time to time on this Website. We recommend that you check this Website regularly for updated information on the handling of your Personal Data.
  24. Terms of use – This Privacy Policy forms a part of the Terms of Use for this Website which is available on our website. In the event of any conflict, inconsistency or conflict between this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use, this Privacy Policy shall prevail.

  27. The Company may be prevented by law from complying with any request that you may make. The Company may also decline any request that you may make if the law requires us to do so.

If you withdraw your consent to any or all use of your Personal Data, depending on the nature of your request, the Company may not be in a position to continue to provide its products or services to you or administer any contractual relationship in place, and this may also result in the termination of any agreements with the Company and the Company’s legal rights and remedies in such event are expressly reserved.
